Faces of Change E-mentors take Patterson students to the Houston Astros baseball game
Students from FACES of Change® partner school, Patterson Elementary were invited to participate in the first E-mentor progam nearly two years ago with volunteers from Greenway Plaza. What began as an e-mail mentorship has blossomed into meaningful bonds and friendships between students and mentors. The students were first introduced to their mentors last year as fourth graders and this year marks the students graduation from fifth grade and Patterson elementary.
To help celebrate the end of the school year, the mentors hosted their students to an evening of fun at the ballpark where former Astros third baseman, Enos Cabell, stopped by to make sure the group was having a good time. While the mentors are sad that this field trip marked the last official event with the fifth grade students, they all agree the E-mentor program was a worthwhile experience for everyone.
