FACES of Change® Golf Tournament Raises over $29,000

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa announced proceeds from their "FACES of Change" Golf Tournament which was held on April 4, 2005, at the prestigious Sonoma Golf Club. The event raised an extraordinary $29,000! All proceeds from the golf tournament and following reception/silent auction benefited Fairmont Sonoma's FACES of Change partner school, El Verano Elementary School. "We are most pleased at the success of this inaugural event, these well-needed funds will greatly benefit the students and faculty of El Verano," boasts the resort's General Manager, Thomas Becker. "I want to personally thank the Sonoma Valley community and our business partners for their generous support. It is my belief that through events such as the "FACES of Change" Golf Tournament businesses can positively impact the future success of tomorrow's leaders."

Tournament participants enjoyed a day of play on the touted California Wine Country classic course, a champagne and hors d'oeuvres reception, as well as lively silent and live auctions. An exclusive vacation package donated by sister property, The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess raised over $1000 at the live auction. 125 participants enjoyed 18-holes; the course and weather were California perfect. "The day was absolutely beautiful and we are so thankful to have so many community members joining in to support El Verano Elementary School," shares Louann Carlomagno, Principal. Noted players included Jason Anderson, Vice President Investments, Crescent Real Estate, and Francisco Gomez, Regional Vice-President Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as well as several Sonoma Valley Community leaders.

Congratulation to Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn for their very successful first FACES of Change golf tournament!
