Patterson Elementary Adds Some "Shady Characters"
Greenway Plaza volunteers help plant trees at their FACES of Change partner school

Friends and family from Greenway Plaza's FACES of Change program spent their Saturday morning helping "green" Patterson Elementary by planting twenty trees along the school's west perimeter. The tree planting was made possible thanks to Crescent's sponsorship of Trees For Houston, a volunteer nonprofit organization in Houston dedicated to the planting of trees along major streets, freeways, and schools in Houston.

Fifteen FACES of Change® members took time from their weekend to come help plant live oak trees at Patterson Elementary alongside 60 students and 10 teachers. Crescent team members who brought their green thumbs, included Dani Garcia and sister Olga, Mark Hasselbring, Jim Langford, Deo Lumbreras (who stopped by to bring extra goodies for volunteers), Monica Ramey, Donna Ross and son Aaron, and Michelle Villarreal.

Volunteers received instructions from the Trees For Houston urban forrester before setting out to plant the twenty trees near the school's playground. In addition to receiving trees, Patterson Elementary also received 100 saplings, an educational presentation for the entire school which demonstrated the benefits of preservation and the basic physiology of our urban trees.
