FACES of Change® volunteers from Crescent's corporate office enjoyed a special luau themed appreciation luncheon last Tuesday, June 15th. To set the mood volunteers were presented with flowered lei's and sunglasses upon their arrival and treated to special non-alcoholic pina coladas and strawberry margaritas. The luncheon was held at the Petroleum Club in Carter Burgess Plaza.
The event was planned by the Community Relations team in an effort to acknowledge and thank the volunteers for their hard work and enthusiasm during the 2003-2004 school year. An impressive 65% of Ft. Worth corporate employees volunteered last year at their FACES partner school, Nash Elementary. In total they donated more than 547 hours of service.
Special recognition was given to the four volunteers who had contributed the most volunteer hours. Holly Ginn, a senior administrative assistant in the Finance - PSG department, was presented with the Volunteer of the Year award for her outstanding work with Junior Achievement, the Dr. Seuss Read-A-Thon, and Incredible Kids Day. Holly contributed an inspiring 20 hours last year. Nancy McNeil was awarded second place for her 19 hours of service. DaLania Smith was honored as the third place award recipient for her 18.5 volunteer hours and Linda Pingel received fourth place for her 17.5 hours of service.
John Goff spoke at the luncheon and congratulated and thanked all of the corporate volunteers for their commitment to the FACES of Change program.
